From big and grand to small and intimate, Summit County has beautiful places to perform your perfect ceremony.
Local hotels and resorts offer large conference areas for a reception and a garden for exchanging vows with friends and family. There are also parks with wedding decks and lovely views.
Colorado is a premier venue for weddings. Sites range from rustic ranches to mountain locations to elegant fine-dining restaurants. There are churches for a more traditional religious ceremony. Many brides and grooms also opt to exchange vows on a mountaintop. Reception sites are just as diverse.
Venues will range in offerings from full packages, complete with entertainment, food and beverage, to do-it-yourself locations where you can pick a caterer, hire entertainment and bring your own alcohol (make sure to ask for full licensing details if you select a location where you provide the booze, there are some serious caveats that come with this option). Ask the vendor exactly what they provide – and what you will need to pay – so that you can plan your budget. See ‘Wedding Catering,’ ‘Wedding Photography’ and ‘Wedding Planners’ for more information on how to put all the pieces together.
Needless to say, when you are planning your wedding in the Rockies, take the weather into account. Have a good backup plan, with an indoor location that will fit all your guests. Even if it’s as simple as rearranging the chairs in the reception site to form a make-shift aisle – be prepared, because mountain weather is unpredictable.
